writing, motherhood and everything in between

About

Jaclyn Lim is a Singapore-based writer.

Her debut novel, A Strange Case of Erasure, is a literary exploration of motherhood, invisibility and the quiet psychological toll of care. Blending speculative elements with domestic realism, the novel examines what happens when emotional labour goes unseen — and what it takes to reclaim a sense of self.

It was a finalist for the Epigram Books Fiction Prize 2026, and will be published the second half of the year. She is also working on a children’s picture book with Epigram, slated for early 2027.

Her writing often returns to themes of memory, motherhood, identity and the textures of everyday experience.

She was previously a magazine journalist, and later spent a decade running an independent floral studio (@bloomroomsg). She has since returned to writing full-time.

In between projects, she writes non-fiction for news platforms and brand studios. Her work has appeared in The Straits Times and on CNA.asia. She is open to selected editorial commissions and contributions.

Outside of writing, she can be found curled up on the couch with a good book, acquiring more plants than she needs or travelling across the island in search of the best fishball noodles.
